1. Privacy Policy Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how KyrixPill: Medication Tracker ("we", "our", "us", or "the App", Android package com.kyrixpill) handles your information. We believe health and medication routines are among the most sensitive personal data that exist. Our core commitment is simple: your health data belongs exclusively to you and will never leave your physical device.

This policy explains why our offline-first architecture guarantees your privacy, outlines our required device permissions, details our zero data collection practices, and explains how you can exercise full control and deletion of your data in strict compliance with Google Play Developer Program Policies, Google Play Health Apps Policies, and global privacy standards.

2. Summary of Data Practices: Zero Data Collection

  • No Personal Data Collection: KyrixPill does not collect, record, harvest, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal, medical, or diagnostic information.
  • No Internet Permission: The application manifest does not request the android.permission.INTERNET permission. The Android operating system strictly prevents the application from opening sockets or making network calls.
  • No Third-Party Analytics: We do not integrate Google Analytics, Firebase, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, Segment, Facebook SDK, or any other telemetry frameworks.
  • No Advertising ID (AD_ID): The application does not declare or access the Google Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID).
  • No User Accounts: You do not need an account, email address, password, or login credentials to use the application.

3. Information Handled Strictly on Your Device

All data entered into KyrixPill is stored exclusively within your device's isolated local SQLite database (Room):

  • Medication Schedules: Medication names, shapes, colors, dosages, units (e.g., mg, ml, IU, drops, tablets), intake schedules, current pill inventory counts, and refill thresholds.
  • Dose Adherence Records: Historical timestamps of when doses were logged as taken, skipped, snoozed, or rescheduled, along with custom taken quantities and optional notes.
  • Symptoms & Health Logs: Symptom descriptions, severity ratings (mild, moderate, severe), onset and resolution timestamps, and associated notes.
  • Profiles & Customization: Local nicknames and color palette themes selected to distinguish medications for yourself, family members, or pets.
  • App Preferences: Notification choices, alarm sound selections, vibration toggles, and home screen widget preferences.
  • Doctor Reports (PDF): Clinical-grade medication adherence reports generated on demand by you, saved directly to the device directory you specify via Android's Storage Access Framework.

4. On-Device Storage & Cryptographic Security

Android Sandbox Isolation

Android enforces strict, kernel-level application sandboxing. KyrixPill stores its SQLite database within the App's private internal storage directory: /data/user/0/com.kyrixpill/.

  • Application Isolation: Android assigns KyrixPill a unique Linux User ID (UID). Operating system file permissions and SELinux policies strictly prevent any other application on your device from reading or modifying KyrixPill's files.
  • Hardware-Backed File-Based Encryption (FBE): On modern Android devices, all internal app storage is hardware-encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption keys managed by your device's secure hardware (Trusted Execution Environment / StrongBox) tied to your lock screen credentials. When your device is locked or powered down, your medication records are cryptographically inaccessible.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety and User Data policies, users retain complete authority to delete their data at any time:

Retention Period

Data remains stored locally on your device for as long as you choose to keep the App installed or until you explicitly delete it. Because we operate zero remote servers, we maintain no backups, logs, or secondary copies of your data.

How You Can Delete Your Data

  1. In-App Immediate Deletion: Open KyrixPill > go to Settings > tap Reset Profile Data (or swipe to delete individual medications/symptoms). This immediately deletes the selected records directly from the on-device SQLite database.
  2. Android System Storage Clear: Open your Android device Settings > Apps > KyrixPill > Storage & Cache > tap Clear Storage / Clear Data. This permanently resets all application databases, preferences, and cached assets.
  3. App Uninstallation: Uninstalling KyrixPill from your Android device causes the operating system to immediately and permanently delete the entire private sandbox directory, including all medication schedules and intake histories.
  4. No Server-Side Request Needed: Because KyrixPill never transmits data to any server, there is no remote data to request deletion for. Once removed from your phone, your data is permanently gone.

6. Device Permissions and Why They Are Needed

KyrixPill requests only the minimal Android permissions necessary to trigger scheduled dose reminders and alarms locally:

PermissionTechnical NameExact Purpose & Justification
NotificationsPOST_NOTIFICATIONSRequired on Android 13+ to post dose reminders, snoozed alarms, and stock refill notices to your notification shade.
Exact AlarmsSCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARMEnables reminders to ring at the exact minute scheduled, even when the device enters low-power battery Doze mode. Can be toggled off in App Settings.
Boot CompletedRECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDReschedules your pending medication reminders when your phone is restarted or powered on.
Full-Screen IntentUSE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENTAllows the urgent alarm UI to display over the lock screen when a high-priority dose alarm rings.
VibrationVIBRATEVibrates the device during active reminder alarms and notifications.
Wake LockWAKE_LOCKKeeps the processor active briefly while audio plays and the alarm screen initializes while the display is sleeping.
Legacy StorageWRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
(maxSdkVersion="28")
Used strictly on legacy Android 8.0 and 9.0 devices to export PDF Doctor Reports. Android 10+ devices use standard Scoped Storage without this permission.

None of these permissions grant network access or allow remote data sharing.
